What happened to Winter in Central Maryland?

By
Real Estate Agent with Ellicott City Clarksville Howard County Maryland Real Estate 535650

Is this really January? This past weekend the weather has been glorious in Central Maryland. Bright, sunny and a balmy 65+ degrees. Just a joy to be alive.

Lucky for me I had 6 buyers this weekend all looking at homes. It was a pleasure to view sun filled properties in t-shirts. Some of the distressed properties were colder inside than the temperatures outside.

Mother Nature also seems confused at the lack of Winter this year. My Daffodils, that usually do not make an appearance till early March, have already started to peek up and enjoy the sunshine. Maybe we will get away without any snowfall this year!

Amazing... spring bulbs in January! My bulbs aren't quite coming up yet, but we've had hardly any winter here, either. Congrats on the influx of business, too.

It's been really mild in our area, too, Ellie - but our daffodils aren't quite that far along...although the crocus's are looking pretty!

I sure hope you don't get a cold snap that kills all those wonderful flowers before they have a chance to bloom. But, this early in the year, I have a feeling you are going to have to completely replant this spring.

Ellie -- I am a little colder than you here in CT but it was 62 degrees here on Saturday.  It certainly made showing properties so much easier......and enjoyable....not having to freeze or navigate through snow and ice. How long can we keep it this way?

Hi Ellie, I just noticed daffodils coming up in a neighbors yard here in SE PA.  Yes we are all getting mixed up on what time of year it is.  I hope the birds don't head north......We are supposed to cool down a bit this week.

Hi Ellie,

We are having the same beautiful but unusual weather for January here in El Dorado Hills too.  I was thinking today that it feels more like March!  I'm kind of worried as we need the rain or well have some problems come summer!!!
