Expect the Unexpected in Real Estate ~ Music on Mondays

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with MoonDancer Realty, Dillsboro,NC NC# 218097

We may not like it but we always need to be prepared to expect the unexpected. In real estate we should know that the unexpected can crop up at any point in a relationship or transaction and the only thing that makes sense is to dust off quickly, glean whatever lessons can be learned, improve your performance and move on to take care of the other folks you've been juggling at the same time.

A bad investment for your client is also bad for you. If you're lucky that the endeavor was sincere but unexpected components cropped up, all you and your client can do is put a higher value on those components and avoid them the next time.

Oh yeah, and...Realtor, tighten your belt.

Ian Anderson, leader of Jethro Tull was always an “expect the unexpected” performer. Peel back the layers of many of the musicians of the 60s and 70s and it shouldn’t be any surprise how extraordinary their talent was nor the breadth of their abilities.

Let’s make this a good week.

Hi Mona,

Good way to start the week. I often expect the unexpected. Doing inspections you have to be prepared for anything, even the unexpected.

Best, Clint Mckie

Good morning Mona. What a wonderful and upbeat, both literally and figuratively, way to start the day. Thanks for the music.

Mona~When I saw Ian Anderson's name, I recognized it, but didn't put it together with classical music. How lovely a piece this was. He's such a character! Just like some of us in real estate. But you have to own your "stuff", put it out there and still love yourself at the end of the day--even if it's not what you expected or what your client expected.

Mona-Like the upbeat tempo of the music. Life is full of surprises so we always have to have a backup plan. Hope you are doing well.  Say HI to Leslie for me. Lindsey is still hanging in there with me.

Diane, pretty much it always turns out positive, just the journey can be bumpy.

Clint, after seeing our home inspector climb down from the attic with a bloody head...I can believe that!

Hi Sheila, I tried to put as much of a philosophical upbeat look to it.

Hello Gayle, Ian Anderson is a character...funny thing is, I was going after "Teacher" or "Aqualung" and ended up with this piece. Oh No! Am I mellowing?

Sharon, we are so glad that Lindsey is still wanting to be in this realm with you.  We miss our Lazer terribly.
