Staging in Seattle Rain: $1M Phinney Ridge Craftsman

By
Home Stager with Staging Seattle, King & Snohomish Counties

Today we are staging a cute bungalow cottage style home near Green Lake in Seattle.  Rain is predicted and snow tomorrow, when we are scheduled to stage a home on the eastside of Seattle in Clyde Hill.  Yes, it does occassionally snow in Seattle and when it does the city basically shuts down.

As a stager, rain is not my friend!  In and out of the truck in the downpour makes for some very soggy stagers!  This job was so large it took two trucks full of inventory.

Last week on what I think had to be the rainest day in Seattle for quite some time, we staged this beautiful Phinney Ridge craftsman.  It is just steps away from the wonderful Woodland Park Zoo and has fantastic views from every level.

Enjoy the photo tour!

Diana - We share the same weather as you and I just woke up to snow this morning!  I'm assisting a stager with a home about 45 minutes away, and I'm dreading the commute.  No one can drive in this fluffy, white stuff!

The home you staged looks lovely.  What a fantastic view, too.  Great job.

Hi Diana ~ What a beautiful Craftsman!  Your staging really made it inviting and showed buyers how they could live there.  The photos are stunning, too.

I know what you mean about offloading staging inventory in the rain .... not fun!!  If there is snow or ice (rare few days a year in Portland) we have a clause in our contract that allows us to resume staging once it's melted :-)

Great location right in my neighborhood. I'll be sure to pass it on to people I know.  Good thing the snow wasn't too bad today. More snow due on Sunday for the Open House! Great thing is if it's not snowing -- we will be having some great vistas, as it's been cold which makes for some clear views from this location looking over Ballard to the Olympic Mountain Range. I'll be sure to check out your beautiful staging. Not much for sale on Phinney right now, so this might go quickly!

It turned out beautiful, Diana. I love how you used the windows as the headboards as the scenery is breathtaking.

We had light flurries here in Atlanta on Friday as I de-staged a home. On Monday, for a staging, we had lightning, thunder and hail. Wasn't pretty. Staging in the rain (not Active Rain, smile) is a pain. I can only image what it was like for you staging this home on one of the rainiest days with that much inventory.  But... you managed, as always, to work your magic. Nicely done.

Kathy

Oh my, Sally, I hope you and the crew were safe yesterday driving through the snow!

Maureen, thanks for stopping by to comment.  Yesterday's weather had us unloading the truck in "slush" - wet snow :(

Kim, Phinney is a wonderful neighborhood, you are lucky to live there!  Thanks for passing the word about this listing :)

Kathy, It's always exciting to stage in "severe" weather, isn't it?  Thank you for your kind comments!  Looking forward to sunny days ahead!

I saw the house today and it was very well represented. You did a great job staging, very low key so everyone could focus on the great job the builder did, and I have to say the listing agent did a great job as well. It looks like he got a wonderful turn out on a somewhat snowy (but not bad) day! A class act all the way around!

Thanks so much for the feedback, Kim!  Glad there was a good turnout for the open house in the snowy weather.  There were 11 different paint colors used in that house and we really tried to blend the staging in each room to enhance the colors, architecture and the purpose for each room.  As you noted, successful staging focuses on the house, not "the stuff".
