Trust

Trust

One word with lots of impact for only 5 letters. Trust

Where does it start? At birth? Aren't we born with a trustful nature? I just ran over to the contest post to make sure I knew the rules and I noticed the baby being tossed in the air.

Have you ever seen a baby NOT like being tossed like that? They Know, without doubt, that you're going to catch them. It's the purest form of trust that I can think of.

What causes us to not trust? Is that too much of a blanket statement? Is Trust All or nothing? I can't imagine going through life trusting nothing.

Recently an incident here in the Rain created a huge conversation about trust. It involved someone we ALL knew and probably trusted. When the facts were made known to me I thought about them for a day or two.

Then, I went to my list of subscriptions and unsubscribed myself. I didn't see any need to keep reading someone who was now on my "not to be trusted" list. Such a small thing that really had no bearing on my life. We were just blogging friends. It didn't hurt me Trustpersonally, but it was about being truthful.

I grew up in a home where being untruthful was 100% unacceptable. Because of that, it has always been my deepest desire for my clients to know that they can trust me. They can count on me to do what I say I'll do and to tell them from my heart what I think, when they ask.

I want them to be able to tell their friends, and hopefully future referrals, that they can trust me to put their interests above all others. That they're in good hands!

It IS how we're suppose to do business anyway.

This post is a submission to the ActiveRain / Adobe EchoSign Trust Contest. I could possibly win a prize. You can find out about the contest by clicking here

Trust is implicit in our relationships here and with our clients.  Very thoughtful post.  Thanks, Connie.

Connie, this episode that you referred to exemplifies why TRUST is so valuable. Once lost is hard to regain. I unsubscribed but wish he were gone. You see, he still reflects something ugly within the human spirit. I would not have minded if it was just a second profile, it was the lie. I hold trusty dearly. Thanks for your blog. I am trustworthy and you my dear are too. You said "you're wathing me," and you are, like a guardian Angel.

Connie, you are right.

If you can't trust someone, there is no reason to continue a relationship with someone whom you know you can't trust.

Good topic to be discussing regarding trust.  A very good example of not wanting to do business with someone that you know to be false.  Good to talk with you.  We'll talk soon.

Cathy - Bless you dear! He is gone. Go search for him. Nowhere here anymore.

Russell - Thank you. I didn't mean to pick at the scab but it's still fresh in our minds.

Connie - I couldn't agree with you more about this topic!  There seems to be an erosion of ethics in our society.  Rainers went through the recent incident, where trust was breached.  But TRUST is becoming an increasingly rare and valauble commodity!  I am hopeful something in the consciousness of mankind will change that!

Truth is all you needed in the subject~.

I agree with you 100%, I am not sure of all that was going on, but I have to admit when someone has a hidden agenda, they are not being truthful. Then, they go on day to day as if they were being truthful all along.... and then you get a "bomb" per say- thrown at you. I think living and speaking the truth goes a long way! Be who you are and living in a Christian home with my Grandma, most of my life, I was taught, that's the only way one should be. It could be the smallest of things, but when someone is not so honest, you don't want any part of that. It's negative and I stay away from negative. SUGGEST>>>

Myrl - I hope you're right. Of course if you read the Bible, humankind has always been a bad sort. It does seem like it's worse but hindsight might not see it as bad as it really was.

Lauren - Yes, it's how we're brought up. If you're not truthful in the small things, how can you be trusted with something truly important.

Connie  You obviously put a lot of time in this post.  Like you, I have also unsubscribed to a blogger I had respected.  I have done my best in 35 real estate years to earn my client's trust.  Good luck in the contest

Suzanne - Very sweet of you. I get the extra points. That's worth something. :)

Karen - I have been thinking about this for a couple of weeks. I would write a sentence or two and save it. Then I finally sat down and wrote paragraphs around the sentences to see where I was really going. Thank you for your thoughts. I always appreciate your friendship!

Outstanding post.  Trust is the very foundation of the real estate business. Life is too short to work with those that we can not trust.

Connie - I have always liked to give people the benefit of the doubt, but once they lose my trust they'll never get it back.

Michelle - Oh, I am so out there trusting everyone. I get caught on it way too much but I'd rather do that than go through life skeptical of everyone.
