Take a break...be a tourist in your own hometown!

Didn't get that holiday break in a sunny clime this year? Give yourself the gift of mini breaks in your own area...the "be a tourist in your own home town" idea.

Pick up tourist info brochure, pretend you've never been to your area before, & follow the highlight suggestions...you have an adventure before you, the adventure of surprise.

Take in the sights that your tourism group promotes, enjoy lunch & dinner at new places, take a different route from here to there...go to the theatre & remind yourself why a live performance is so involving...how about a live concert...been to your Art Gallery lately? A museum (no, they're not just for school tours)?

Consider a massage...that touch that heals is a major restorative.

Walk a garden...snowdrops are out, early rhodos, ornamental cherry blossoms in protected enclaves, daffodil bulbs poking up...every day is a little lighter.

Need a light movie to make you smile? Seen The Butcher's Wife?

Shake it up a little, dare to do something a little different to your established routine...you're on a baby holiday, right?

A quick fix...buy some tulips, red or yellow...the centerpiece for dinner!

Spring is almost here...ahh...breathe.

Some great ideas here! And probably each of us have wonderful places to explore right in our own backyards that we just never seem to get to unless out of town company comes to visit...

Hi Li,  So right in vacations in our own town.  I have friends from back east come and visit and always look to me to show them the sights, I need to know them.

Awesome suggestion.  I have lived here for almost 10 years and there are still things I haven't seen yet.
