~ Watching the Snow Fall ~

Blizzard 2-3-12When I woke up this morning, I decided to work from home.  Why?  Today the Denver area is in the middle of a blizzard.  As I looked out my bedroom window, I could no longer see the dead grass on the ground, just a fluffy white covering.  Why submit myself to the dangers of driving on the icy roads along with hundreds of other drivers when I can work from home?

It was actually peaceful and relaxing watching the snow blow in the wind and fall gracefully to the ground.  Everything looks so serene and peaceful with a blanket of freshly fallen snow.

Wrigley, my dog, really enjoyed the snow.  I watchedWrigley 2-3-12 him hop through it and play.  He was having a ball.  I'm not sure if he knew what snow was.  I adopted him just over a month ago.  He came from a shelter in New Mexico and I have no history on him.  What I do know is that both of our lives are better because of it.

At one point he was trying to jump up on the fence.  He saw a squirrel in a tree and was trying to get to him!  He actually got his hind legs up to the half way post on the fence.  (Uh oh...Is the fence tall enough???)  He had a blast hopping back and forth and around the yard.  And I enjoyed the entertainment he gave me!

Wrigley was tired at the end of a fun filled day of playing in the snow!  And I was able to continue working....and watch how peaceful Wrigley looked curled up in a little ball.  I think I hit the jackpot when I adopted him.  He is a very sweet, gentle and loving dog.

What do you like to do when it snows all day?

Dawn,  Wrigley is so precious.  I can feel reading your post how much joy Wrigley brings you.  He is the luckiest dog t o have you in his life.  I have not seen snow in years!  However, when it rains here I like to stay inside and work from home as well.

Dawn,  Great photos.  That storm came through Wyoming last night and I had over a foot of snow to shovel. At least it cleared up and I was able to get some good photos of the dog sled races which I just posted. Have a great weekend.

Hi Dawn you should have made snow angels with Wrigley. Too cold for me though.

Kathleen ~ I was so lost when I lost Kobi back in November.  Wrigley has not replaced him, but he has filled a void and he is such a loving creature.

Gary ~ just stopped by your post.  I loved your photos.  Those dogs look like they are having the times of their lives.

Charles ~ too cold for me also!  I stayed inside and took photos through the window!

When I first moved up here I liked the snow and then it snowed again and again.  Didn't take me long to cuss the stuff.  Now I just tolerate it and move on

Dawn, a wonderful update on Wrigley.  I'm so glad he's adjusted and loving his new furever home.  Now, as to your question on What do I like to do when it snows all day?  Uh, um, er - maybe I can borrow one of your snow days?  LOL.

James ~ I enjoy snow, but only when it's sunny out and not freezing cold.

Juli ~ you are always welcome to borrow a snow day.  You can play in the snow with Wrigley!

Dawn, I MISS SNOW!!!  Your photos are making me homesick for Chicago...it was a lousy 68 degrees here yesterday and today although it rained most of today.

I don't know if I ever asked you this, but does Wrigley's name have just a little something to do with the "Cubbies"?

What a sweet dog!!! I like to stay home when it snows. I live up on a hill, a big hill. No point in driving. I like to take photos, watch my grandson in the snow, and curl up on the couch and stare out the window.

But after last year, I am glad you are watching it and not me, LOL.

Nick ~ yep....his name has something to do with the Cubbies and that being my hometown.

Andrea ~ I can imagine a little boy just rolling down a big hill.  What fun!  But I'm sure it's not so fun when you have to drive up that big hill during a snow storm.

Jane ~ I believe I ended up with about a foot and up to a foot and a half or 2 in the snow drifts.
