The first week in December 2011 Best Agent Business instituted an innovative new service for clients. The objective of the ten-day introductory Time Management Program is to assist real estate professionals in planning and implementing a consistent daily schedule. It was believed this would help agents to free up their time and work in a more timely and cost-effective manner.
According to team leader Tomica Bonner, the plan was that group members would receive a daily email giving them questions to answer about their day. “We help them to see where they are spending the majority of their time. With that knowledge, they could then adjust their schedule to become more productive.”
Participants chart out what they would like to accomplish each day vs. what they are actually getting done. Then they develop a plan of action in order to meet their daily goals. Bonner says, “We have weekly group conference calls that are completely optional. Steve hosts the call and participants can ask questions on areas that may need improvement. It's a quick session and lasts about 30 minutes. However, it's been really productive. I communicate with each member in the beginning with a brief 10-minute phone call. This is to understand their time management concerns so that we can help them better.”
“The program has received positive results. Those that have stayed committed the entire ten days of the program have noticed drastic improvements in the amount of work they are able to accomplish. It has also led to some members signing up for our 30-day time management program and our email program. We've found that email can eat a lot of your time and they need assistance in developing a plan to manage their incoming/outgoing mail.” Bonner said.
