Are you too old and set in your ways to change?

Yesterday one of the agents in our coaching session used this as a reason (excuse) why she couldn't seem to change the negative habits that were keeping her from reaching the goals and objectives she has established for herself.

Are you too old and "set in your ways" to change?

Are you using this as an excuse to allow you not make the changes you need to make in your business and life?

Change begins with our choices.

Any day we wish; we can discipline ourselves to change it all. Any day we wish; we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge. Any day we wish; we can start a new activity. Any day we wish; we can start the process of life change. We can do it immediately, or next week, or next month, or next year.

We can also do nothing. We can pretend rather than perform. And if the idea of having to change ourselves makes us uncomfortable, we can remain as we are. We can choose rest over labor, entertainment over education, delusion over truth, and doubt over confidence. The choices are ours to make. But while we curse the effect, we continue to nourish the cause.

As Shakespeare uniquely observed, "The fault is not in the stars, but in ourselves." We created our circumstances by our past choices. We have both the ability and the responsibility to make better choices beginning today. Those who are in search of the good life do not need more answers or more time to think things over to reach better conclusions. They need the truth. They need the whole truth. And they need nothing but the truth.

This is something I stress in my daily blog.
We cannot allow our errors in judgment, repeated every day, to lead us down the wrong path. We must keep coming back to those basics that make the biggest difference in how our life works out. And then we must make the very choices that will bring life, happiness and joy into our daily lives.

And if I may be so bold to offer my last piece of advice for someone seeking and needing to make changes in their life - If you don't like how things are, change it! You're not a tree. You have the ability to totally transform every area in your life - and it all begins with your very own power of choice.

What will you choose today?

All Star Coaching thought for today: If people want to change, they will. If they don't want to, it's hard to make them do so.

Have a productive day.

BF

You are only as old as you let on and will age faster if not willing to accept change or learn new things.

I have struggled with the word "Change" for most of my life. It is such an over used and not understood word, when it comes to a human being.

Thank you for sharing the post with all of us.

Bill, we have the life we CREATE. If someone is too old to change, to stop bad habits, to learn new things then sadly they are not choosing to live life. I hope you were able to make some progress. Sometimes we all just need to understand we must take the time it takes to adapt and move forward.

We are never too old to change. We just need to stop making excuses and make it happen.

Raymond, you are absolutely right. People would age slower if they lived more! Thanks for your thoughts. I hope you will follow our daily blog and post comments often. Thanks!

Joe, I think we all struggle with this one. Change is one of the most dificult things we face in life. Thanks.

Emily, thnaks for your thoughts. I agree with you. If we think we are too old to change we are going to miss most of what life is about. Thanks for your thoughts. I hope you'll read our daily blog and post comments often. Thanks again.

Harry, I agree with you 100%. Never too old to change, that's just an excuse we use to not try. Thanks for your comments.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Not too old, just insane.

I choose life, and having it more abundantly.  My greatest joy is in achieving the things I dream about.  Making others happy.

This is a must read for today and everyday.  So, I'm suggesting.
