Bungled Palindrome

Oh crap.  I've been aiming for days to achieve a perfect mathematical palindrome in my AR point score.  123321 was on my radar ... so close.....

Oops.  I just overshot it.  My current points:  123325.   Fiddlesticks.  Wasn't thinking.  I shouldn't have made that last comment.

Next target:  124421.

You can blame Maureen Henry for getting me hooked on mathematical palindromes.

(In a mathematical context a palindrome is a number that reads the same in either a forward or backward direction. In other words a palindrome (or palindromic number) is equal to its reverse. Thus for example 1331 is a palindrome. )

How  funny!  I used to have a phone number that was a palindrome (a complete accident given to me by the phone company), and since then I've been hooked on things like that too.

Cheryl, IOf course I never heard of it...now that I'm aware of what it is I'm sure I'll be looking for it :)  Sorry that you just missed it!! It's like watching the odometer turn in the car to me.

I do this all the time, I didn't know that it had a name. I'm at 8730, and I am shooting for 8778. It's hard when you get points in increments of 25 usually. Here's helping you to your next target. Good luck

I went to the mathematical palindromes link...very cool stuff.  If they taught this stuff in school, math would have been a lot more fun!

Oh, and I've decided to change my goal weight from 120 to 121!

Well, I haven't read Maureen's post yet, so I don't know what a Palindrome is.  However, I do play little games with myself involving AR points.  For the longest time, I wanted my comments received to catch up with my comments made - Then, swoosh!  Off they went, and now my goal is reversed - to make as many as I've received.  Silly, I know.  I must have too much time on my hands.

As I write this, my ar score is 9339....

Now I see this stuff everywhere - see what you started! Or maybe I should blame Maureen!

Cheryl,

I love patterns of every kind.  Now I have a new mathematical pattern to look for, and you've added a new word to my vocabulary.
