After the Rain in Dillsboro, NC ~ Silent Saturday

By

We are still somewhat in shock with the early arrival of tall grass, blooming plants and trees, and the buzzing of insects. A stroll around historic Dillsboro, NC the other day following a cloudburst yielded a few great photo opportunities. Don’t you think everything looks more lush and softer following the rain?

I am doing that as we speak. I start a lot from seed. It is thunder and lightening but I am safe and warm and doing something I love.  Growing flowers and veggies from seed.

the rain missed us and we sure could use a shower to wash the pollen away.  It felt like an early spring for me too, but then I looked at some photos I took in the same time period last year and sure enough I had blooms then too.

Hi Mona,

We are expecting a big storm tomorrow so I am planning to go on my hike early. I love the rain but do not want to get really wet and cold. I love your pictures and they are edited beautifully. I love the first picture where you can see the rain drops. Thanks for sharing.

Sharon, I hope it is bountiful.  Thanks so much for your note, we'll respond to it soon.

Tammy, it's raining outside now.  I'll have to figure out when to get the grass cut now.

Kristin, thank you.  I'm not a big fan of cold, wet hikes either.  Don't mind the cold...just don't want the dampness.

Will, I've missed you.  Welcome back and have a good weekend too.

Allen, even though sometimes it frustrates me politically...aesthetically it suits me very well.

Wow! Truly stunning shots. You are a gifted photographer. And I agree... the rain does make everything so fresh and beautiful. And I can just smell it, too. So nostalgic.

Spring is showing off in Dillsboro, NC! We had a nice rain here in Murphy too and then the Sunday's right back out. Gorgeous photos and Anna Banana sent us over to see them.

Gretchen, thank you.  You can smell the rain and it's nice to settle the dust.

Hello to my Murphy neighbors.  That was so nice of Anna.  Murphy has been getting their share of the weather lately.

Mona,

Very pretty colors. The rain really brings out the color. :)

Steve, it seems like nothing increases the richness in the colors like a light rain.  The plants don't get wet enough to look droopy but the colors are so much more saturated.
