Local Flavor: The Whistle Stop Restaurant in Baxter TN 38544
It's all about trains and great local flavor at the Whistle Stop Restaurant. This charming local diner is appropriately named for it's location near the railroad tracks in the sleepy little town of Baxter, Tennessee.
This small local eatery offers a surprisingly large menu. Take your choice of several specialty pizzas such as the Pepperoni Express, The conductor, The Freight Train, All Aboard, Garden Railway, Hawaiian Locomotive, or the One Way Track.
If oven hot subs are more to your taste, then take your choice from among the Boxcar classic, the Double Decker, the Monorail Chicken, the Rocking Railroad, and several others. There is also a big selection of salads and desserts. In fact, if you want to have dessert first, then try the Caboose Cobbler Appetizer.
There's more than just great food here at the Whistle Stop. You can also enjoy entertainment provided by local bands some evenings.
The hard working owners of the Whistle Stop keep the restaurant open 7 days a week, from 10:30 am - 9pm.
