All of us are curious about our heritage and history. While most of us may be more likely to find a skeleton in the closet than treasure in the bank when researching family ancestry, I'm curious to know who here has checked the 1940 census data for information on your family?
Was it what you expected? Did you learn anything fun...racy...strange?
Sad to say, I checked mine and found two of my ancestors were suffering from extreme lack of work during 1939: the husband had worked zero weeks in 1939 and the wife had only worked one week in 1939. (Sounds way too familiar for many U.S. families right now.) However they each did declare someone had given them $50 during the year.
Let me know what interesting data you learn about your family and ancestors at http://www.myheritage.com/1940census.
