Little Touches Make All the Difference

Little Touches Make All the Difference

I took a listing this past week and had my daughter help me add some special touches to the home to make it pop.  She is always so great at decorating and together we make quite a team.

We loaded up my husband’s SUV with goodies and a couple of area rugs and boy did those help liven up the rooms.

My basement seems to be packed with staging supplies these days so there is never a shortage of decorating supplies.

The living room was nice but it just didn’t have any pizazz.  Notice how nice it looks with a few throw pillows, less curtains blocking the light and a pretty area rug to anchor the room.

The basement is finished and has an awesome theater room.  Again, it just didn’t have much personality because everything was beige and boring.  A nice area rug down there brought it all to life.

I always suggest that my sellers hire a professional stager, but sometimes, their budget doesn’t allow for that so I try to pitch in and help out.

Wow! The area rugs do a world of good. It's amazing how a few changes can transform the feel of a room and make it more inviting.

Love your changes!

:) i do the same if i can:)

Pillows, rugs, some paintings, homemade soup and new towels, flowers and greens can change the space dramatically.

Not every seller can afford a pro stagger, and not every listing needs one.

I have two main rules : rooms should be clean and simple( no clutter, or personal items, please!)

Belinda~ Amazing what a difference something as simple as an area rug can make to add just a punch of color to a room.

It doesn't take much to make a big difference.  Just adding the rugs and pillows gives a pop of much needed color.

Howdy and afternoon Belinda

Belinda my friend, you and your daughter sure did a mighty fine job of giving this listing a helping hand to really show of.

Have a good one

Belinda -- I agree professional staging is preferred but sometimes the homeowner's budget does not allow such an expense(although I believe the payback brings a higher return) -- so some simple changes can make some big differences.    Good luck with your new listing.

I'm also a person who likes to pitch in and help out, and sometimes Russel and I will load our own stuff -- usually some plants and knick knacks -- in the car and start decorating. Russel claims to never have been a stager or interior decorator, but maybe in his next life.
