It has taken some time and some mistakes not to mention a couple dozen banana's.
I will share a few secrete's for those with a greener than average Thumb.
Stem of course needs to be up. Plant while cool with the Banana almost still having a yellow tinge of color.
I found The photo below being the most successful. Heavy soil and on the acidic side...6.8-6.6 is optimal.
Then water lightly and wait.
Germination takes between 5-10 days depending on weather.
This is from about a week ago. The first sprout I saw.
2 days later...
Not very fast growing...This is after a week, a second leaf.
Now I know that I won't get any fruit from this tree for a number of years, but I am thinking of trying to keep it over winter for a year if it continues to grow!
