Marketing Luxury Real Estate: Beyond Organic and Xeno's Density

Xeno's Density at the Santa Barbara Farmers' Market

This morning at the Santa Barbara Certified Organic Farmers' Market  was full of fun and surprises.  At Roots, the first stand where we buy little gems (small version of Romaine lettuce), they had a new lettuce (pictured above) called Xeno's Density.  Roots buys the seeds from Wild Garden seeds which specializes in the unusual combinations of Nature's creations.

Radishes at the Santa Barbara Market

As we were buying some Italian parsley at BD's, another favorite stand, an out of towner visitor asked, " Is this produce organic?", and the farmer answered, "Beyond Organic"!   The Farmers' Market in Santa Barbara has been in existence since the Forties, and the soils have been lovingly kept organic every way possible.  There is a great pride here as to their accomplishments, and we salute and appreciate their dedication to maintaining these standards.

Wishing you all a delightful Saturday, Cheers, Ron & Alexandra

Great to have this on your doorstep...I'm lucky to have a version nearby, too.    Great photos!

I must admit that the radishes looked far more appealing than the lettuce.  I won't give you a further comment, but I will keep it to myself.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Ron & Alexandra, I must confess I've never heard of Xeno's Density lettuceThe radishes look good and makes me want to get up from my desk and grab some.... except there are no radishes in the house :)

Now that is just too interesting, Alexandra. My husband came over to take a look. Did you buy one? (Xeno's Density).

Nope - I'm still boycotting your farmers market posts until our local ones get going - I am too envious. And those are maybe the best looking radishes I've ever seen.

I've been growing organically for over 18 years now. It's a challenge at our elevation of over 7500 feet, but we make it work. As a matter of fact, I will be spending the better part of my time tomorrow afternoon in the garden getting things ready for the big plant. Your pictures look great.

Hi Alexandra-Love the uniqueness of that first pic. Never had seen that before. With the radishes I think the white are hotter than the others but not sure.

Li,

Thanks, we love having artists in our midst, the farmers are really talented in how they present their produce.  They definitely  understand staging.  Thanks for your comment.

Don,

You certainly illustrate the point that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  I found them beautiful and fun to look at, and I agree about the radishes, they were included just for you, LOL

Rebecca,

The lettuce is great, it si a blend of green leaf and purple leaf, just adds pizzazz to the salad.

Toni,

I did buy one, we will have it a salad with it on Monday...I love the way it looked, purple being one of my favorite colors.

Dick,

What can I say to your comment, it is our climate that lends itself to all this bounty, and the people who grow them with absolute love and commitment to doing their best.

Anna,

Yes, we are, and it is one of those blessings I count on a daily basis...Ron and I are very fortunate.

Debbie,

Enjoy yourself, my garden in LA was organic for the 18 years we lived there.  I was determined to enrich the dirt.

Sharon,

I am not sure either, but I like them both.

Larry and Sheila,

Our eyes seem to catch all those things, if I don't see them, Ron does...we are made that way, LOL

Thank you all for your comments, we appreciate them. A

R&A~Xeno's Density made my culinary tastebuds water!!! It also sort of reminded me of a plant leaf, but I can't come up with the name right now...climatis isn't right, but it's close to that.

The radishes, the shapes and colors of both--so delectable and lovely.

Gayle,

Coleus has great variegated leaves, perhaps that is what you were thinking of.  We are going to have this lettuce with our sandwich at lunch today.  The radishes were art work, and thanks for dropping by to comment. A
