Saturday Staging Feature: Home Staging is the Remedy to a Price Reduction

You made the decision to sell your house.  Of course, you want to get the best price, in the least amount of time, with the least amount of stress.  Maybe you've had your home listed for several months and you've had plenty of showings, but no offers.  It's time to take action.  What are your options?  A price reduction?  That could cost you thousands of dollars.  Have you considered home staging?

Kristine Ginsber with Elite Staging and Redesign reminds us that "staging" is ALL around us.  We ever "stage" ourselves.  So, why wouldn't you stage your home to sell?

Home Staging is the Remedy to a Price Reduction

Everything we purchase is marketed aka “staged” to grab our attention, create desirability persuading us to buy a particular product. For example department stores hire design experts to stage window fronts to get you in the door where you find manikins adorned in the latest fashions all tailored to get you to buy their products……and it works.

You may not be aware, but we stage ourselves everyday

Whether we’re going to work, on a date, a job interview, black tie event, a party, a wedding, a funeral, ect., to some degree we stage ourselves every day.

Why would you not stage/ market your home, your biggest asset?!

Home staging is a short term marketing tool to sell your home quickly and for the right price. You only have a short window to wow buyers, create a buzz, increasing your home’s desirability so offers start rolling in. This is where you drive buyers to your door, or drive them to your competition.

A good home stager will focus on highlighting your home and its architectural features

We create emotional connection points (a future blog) and present your home in its best light.  Staging includes everything from decluttering, cleaning, organizing to rearranging/repurposing furniture, updating with art and accessories in a way that best complements your home and its architectural features.

Every room needs to have a purpose and make sense to buyers

Home staging takes the guess work out of furniture arrangement and demonstrates to buyers how they can maximize your home’s square footage.  Whether it’s an open floor plan or an odd layout, a good home stager will demonstrate to buyers how they can utilize each room so they can easily picture themselves living in your home.

Why accept a price reduction costing you tens of thousands of dollars?

Consult a professional home stager who will guide you and showcase  your home so it stands out from the competition, driving more foot traffic to your door. Donna - thanks so much for rebloging me - I truly appreciate it. I think a great Realtor, a well priced home in a nice location with staging is the winning combination to sell quickly and for more money...and in that order! I work with some of the smartest Realtors who hire me to stage and we are a team - I love it and it works! Have a great weekend!

Donna,  How a home shows ... and smells, is crucial to getting a home sold.  This is a great re-blog.  Home sellers need to understand that buyers "feel" and the decision to buy a home is an emotional one.

Thank you Kristine!  There's no mystery to selling your home for its highest value, but it does take a strong TEAM!

Kathleen~ It all matters.  Curb appeal is the first step.  Does the buyer even want to go inside?  Smell is a huge deciding factor.  Allergies will play in to that as well.  Does the seller smoke or have pets?  Buying a home IS an emotional decision and buyers need to feel "connected".  Home staging often accomplishes this.

Tom~ The investment in home staging is worth the savings in the final price of the home sale!
