National Star Wars Day - "May the 4th" sounds like "May the Force"

Real Estate Agent with GreatWest Realty DRE# 00827565

This is May 4th.  What does that mean?  It means, this is National Star Wars Day.  Why, you ask?  Because “May the 4th sounds a lot like “May the Force” be with you!

There is also other otherworldly news this weekend.  For the shutterbugs out there, it’s likely to be a great opportunity to snap on your telephoto camera lens and set up the tripod to capture a moon shot or two.  This full moon occurring on Saturday night is labeled a “Super Moon.”  What does that mean exactly?  According to NASA, it means the moon will appear as much 30% brighter and 14% wider than other full moons this year.   The best time for viewing the lunar orb will be shortly after moonrise on Saturday evening.

For those of you always looking for a new word to add to your vocabulary, here’s one – “perigee.”  Used in a sentence: “Perigee” is the point in the moon’s orbit when it is closest to earth.

Back here on Earth, weekend events in the Greater Sacramento Region are as follows:

For a coming attraction, be sure to put May 20th on your calendar.  The Pacific Rim Festival will be held in Old Sacramento that day.  Always a crowd pleaser, with great entertainment and wonderful food, you will be certain to enjoy the event, if you are in the area!

Thanks for the information on the moon, Myrl, I really had no idea. Sounds like plenty of things are going on out there during this moon's phase.

National Star Wars Day I saw this all over AR and FB yesterday and was clueless!  Thank you for clearing that up for me my friend.

Thank you so much for alerting me to the Photo Feature!  What an honor and I truly appreciate it.  Roy had done a blog on taking your camera on morning walks for the best shots.  I did and you see the results with the beautiful cactus.

Have a great day and make it count in all you do my friend.

And to think I am almost caught up on Season 4 of Eureka, almost in time to start watching some of the shows from Season 5 we have taped. On one of the last shows from Season 4, they mentioned 2 different Star Treks, and my husband pointed out there were 5 Star Treks. He would know that, I guess. And we might go to the Pacific Rim Fest since we can walk there from Land Park. I need a little exercise. Are you going?
