IRVINE, CA-Sperry Van Ness International Corp. has namedDiane Danielson as its first chief platform officer. Danielson, a former attorney, accomplished speaker, published author and widely recognized social-media expert, will serve the company in leadership, business development and growth capacities.
Most recently, Danielson was consulting for companies on growth strategies that integrate technology platforms with marketing and business-development outreach. Past positions include serving as VP of business development for corporate services and strategy at Spaulding & Slye/Colliers (now Jones Lang LaSalle) and as head of marketing for Meredith & Grew/ONCOR (nowColliers International Boston). “Bringing Diane on board represents a big win for the company,” says Kevin Maggiacomo, CEO and president of SVN. “She will be an integral player in Sperry Van Ness International’s aggressive expansion program.”
Maggiacomo tells GlobeSt.com that expanding the company’s presence into new markets is an important part of its second-wave growth initiative, which is geared toward creating unprecedented value for its advisors and clients. “This next phase of growth will involve some leading-edge, collaborative growth initiatives which fit hand-in-glove with Diane's skill set.”
He adds that over the past year, SVN has brought on more than 16 franchises in key markets, “our best growth year since 2006—and we will continue to attract new offices as our platform is strengthened through leadership as well as technology.”
As GlobeSt.com previously reported, in February the company added two new franchises in California and Wisconsin as part of its national expansion program, which started in 2001 and has grown to more than 1,000 advisors and staff representing more than 150 markets. At that time,Maggiacomo said that “San Ramon and Milwaukee are new markets for us and signify an important addition to our national expansion efforts.” United Apartment Group now operates as Sperry Van Ness / United Apartment Group, located in San Ramon, CA. Led by Ted Booras, who serves as managing director, the firm specializes in multifamily investments in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area.
“The energy, innovation and culture of collaboration that exists at Sperry Van Ness is unique and forward-thinking,” says Danielson. “This is why I’m excited to be joining the company in the position of chief platform officer, which is a culmination of past experiences within the commercial real estate industry and in building national networks.”
