This was a cool blog post to wake up to. It's from Gay Rosen, who is a phenomenal real estate agent in my area. She takes amazing care of her clients - both buyers and sellers and really looks out for them. This is no exception.
Gay called me because a) her clients were in a rush and b) they got a high estimate from someone else. She looked out for the better interests and called me. Now, normally, we need a week or so advance notice to refinish floors because we are super busy, especially this time of year. I did this as a favor to Gay because she has always treated me so well without asking for anything in return. I knew her clients needed someone and fast and we somehow figured out a way to make it happen.
What Gay didn't mention here is how much she assisted the clients in getting their home ready - busy customers who have full time jobs and Gay made herself available to help the contractors get in/out and helped her clients find the right people for the right jobs. Now, that is customer service.
Many times, would be sellers get a little overwhelmed when preparing their home for sale.. We, as agents, can walk through their home and suggest painting this or that, having wires trimmed here or there, removing clutter, and refinishing those floors.. but when time is an element, it is always nice to know that you have a bevy of professionals that you can call, and who will make things 'work' for your clients and your deadlines.
Such was the case this past week. Clients had a room that had paint on the floors that were a few years old..... They asked the painter if he could scrape up the paint but he replied it would still be there, if only fainter....They were then pondering the idea of whether or not to place carpeting over the paint, but that would still leave an ugly unstained trim around the entire room.. I called the flooring girl (mmmmhhh - who could that be..) Debbie Gartner of course, and she was able to get the work started the very next day...We...elll I should not say that as she had informed my clients not to paint said room, but the painter's chap did anyway, and so after the floor men arrived, saw that the wall were wet, they then had to return the very next day to first start the work. This meant that Debbie had not only reshuffled jobs that first day to accommodate my clients, but she also had to reshuffle jobs the second day.. She did it!.
The end result is pictured here... (albeit the furniture is now back) but you can see the gleaming hardwood floors - they also refinished the hallway floors too, and my clients are very happy. They couldn't believe how they were able to match up the color of the stairs to the floors, and the end result was that the broker's who visited my first broker's open house all thought the house gleamed, sparkled and was very pristine (and elegant of course). I have to admit that refinishing the floors was a great choice, and the fact that Debbie stepped in to help so quickly was simply grand. I have received some wonderful compliments on the home.. so now all I have to do is sell it! Any takers?
New Rochelle is GREAT!
