After thirty years, it was about time.

I was told by the home owner that she had planted this yucca plant back thirty years ago.

This was the first year that the plant had ever went to seed.

Notice the seed pods?

Yucca plant with seed pods.

This plant is over thirty years old. The seed pods look like a bunch of bananas.

This next picture is a bush that has interesting blooms on it.

Very small blooms.

The blooms on this bush were very interesting. It is about nine foot high.

I hope everyone has a great day in the Rain.

Hi Anita,

I did a post about a yucca in bloom a couple of posts ago.

I have never seen the seed pods like this though.

As a child I remember them as blooming, but never going to seed.

Great thing to share with everyone.

Hello Wayne,

No not really, you don't mess with them unless they are in a walkway and try to poke you.

Then you can trim away.

Terrific photos Clint, is that normal for the Yucca to take so long to go to seed?

Hello Al,

Not normally. But it took this one thirty years to be so.

The normal seed pods are the size of about a small lime.

These are some huge ones.

Have a good day in Ormond by the Sea.

All my best, Clint McKie

Clint,

I've never seen seed pods like that before! They do look like a bunch of bananas but I'd sure hate to have one fall on my head! And that 9 foot tree is unusual too! 30 years of living as a yucca is a long time. I wonder how many new plants will grow? I'm sure glad the owners got to see the pod seeds and I hope it's a good omen for them. It would be fun to do some research on that tree to find out why it took 30 years. Can you imagine if a woman took 30 years instead of 9 months to have a child???
