Writing Posts About Your Passions Will Get You Real Business
We just received an email from a buyer who is moving to Wellington. She found our ActiveRain blog. What was she researching for that brought her to our blog? She is a homeschooling mother who is relocating to Wellington Florida.
Homeschooling is one of my personal passions. I am an advocate and believe that all parents have the right to choose the education for their children and that includes homeschool.
I love to write about our homeschool journey on our ActiveRain real estate blog. There are a lot of people that believe that is not a very smart thing to do while the opposite is really the truth. When I write about our homeschool journey as well as the homeschool facts and how you can homeschool when you move to Florida I connect with home buyers and home sellers who homeschool their children. With over 2 million children being homeschooled the chance of our connecting with homeschool families is pretty good.
Whatever you are passionate about is what you should blog about. If you are a doctor and you are passionate about helping children with autism then you should be writing about that and with passion. Readers feel the passion through your words. Even though they can not hear you speaking to them vocally they can hear your heart beating right through that keyboard.
This buyer shared with me me in her very personal email how grateful she was to connect with a homeschooling agent. She said it was a joy to read all of my homeschool posts and feel my love of homeschool through my writing. She told me in her email about her child she is homeschooling as if we have been friends for a long time.
This is the connection that cements relationships. All business is about the relationship you have with your customers. People do business with people they know, like and trust. They get to know you by reading your posts, the begin to like you because you are writing about something they are very interested in. It has to be more than about business. You set yourself apart from your competitors when you write with passion on different subjects that you are interested in.
Then they trust you. This is proven through the heartfelt phone calls and emails you will get after that connection is made through your writing.
We have a wonderful buyer that we get to work with who is already connected to us and that was all done through our blog.
Keep on blogging. Don't listen to those who tell you to make your blog sterile and only about real estate. There is so much more to life. You want to stand out from the boring, sterile and lack of passion blogs and articles that fill the internet. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.
Care about something. Share that with the world. Connect with others and you will find your perfect fits - like kind- buyers and sellers who are ready to do business with you.
