Wayne Newton * MR Las Vegas * sold his 40 acre estate in 2001 to a developer who agreed that Newton and his family and animals could live at the property WHILE it was being developed as GRACELAND West!

When the new property owner/landlord started sending workers onto the property located at the corner of Pecos and Sunset in Las Vegas, Newton apparently started disrupting work and failed to cooperate with the developer's plans for the property.

Newton has had financial troubles of late including his pilot suing him for $500,000.

In a recent court hearing, Newton was awarded a restraining order that requires the landlord/developer's workers to stay 50 feet from the Newtons' home and the Newton family.

The landlord claimed in court that Newton has allowed the home to fall into disrepair; however, Newton claimed that the home was not in disrepair since it was named one of the TOP 5 US homes in 2008.

Like many tenants, I suspect Wayne does not realize he has duties to MAINTAIN and CARE for the property he inhabits even if it is NOT HIS!

Its really sad to see this happen OVER AND OVER AND OVER again from celebrities. They have no financial knowledge, spend money like its water and then as soon as the "heyday" is over they are filing for bankruptcy and losing everything they were fortunate enough to get??? What a waste and you think they would learn but I dont think thats ever going to happen.

Wallace, It amazes me that tenants would allow the property to deteriorate around them. Guess they just don't care or don't want to de disturbed. It doesn't matter what the caliber of tenant is there are ,any similarities.

How sad for them. But they do have to keep the home in repair. But like David said about falling stars is true and they should sell everything and down size.... way down to survive.
