The keys to your new home are a little wet... Sorry!

The keys to your new home are a little wet... Sorry!

I had an out of town closing yesterday.  The sellers are out of state, the buyer and his attorney... 3 hours away.  Considering that we were all in different areas, the closing went really, really smooth (thank goodness for technology and a great team of professionals).

The buyer is spending the weekend on the Crystal Coast, and when he called me this morning to arrange a time to get the keys to his new property, I was washing cars in the church parking lot to raise money for the new youth program at our church.  He was thrilled, and said, "I'll drive right over and pick up the keys, my car really needs to be washed anyway".

So, while the children did their best to make his SUV sparkle, he enjoyed a glass of lemonade from the lemonade stand, and I was able to finish up the transaction by handing over his keys.  He didn't even mind that the ink on the key chain was running from being dropped in a puddle of sudsy water!

What a wonderful day I had, acting like a kid again, and closing out another transaction at the same time!  I am so fortunate to have clients that see the joy in it as well.

Hope you all had a wonderful day!

The keys will dry . . . but the clients' happiness in their new home--and you--will never fade! :D

Nice work and nice post, Amy!

Hi Amy - Sounds like even without the client coming by and the closing it would have been a great day, but that just made it even better.  What a happy day!

Hello Amy,

Nice to have to "HAND OVER THE KEYS" to the client's new home. Wet or not.

I wish we could do this everyday.

Best, Clint Mckie

Amy- it is so refreshing to hear a "feel good" Real Estate story.  Isn't it nice to have a buyer who will come over to you to pick up the keys and take part in the car wash.  Love this story.

Amy, wow...you seem to have attracted a few scammer/spammers and of course I reported them. I'm sure your client didn't mind the wet keys! So, are you a Dr Who fan? I noticed the quote...I have the complete Dr Who series on VHS. (The most popular actor that played Dr Who)...pulling a blank right now.
