Hi Tammy, what an interesting post in the month of June!  Do they use fireplaces in the summer too in Fairbanks?

Tammy, heavy snow may cause damage to power line, and etc., I guess wood will be the best option for fireplace?

Tammy, I was in Fairbanks AL in the summer for a week and had daylight all the time it took a while to get use to it...our hotel had very heavy curtains so the daylight did not shine through when we went to bed.  It is an awesome place.

With 9 months of Winter you definitely want a way to stay warm in Faribanks, but there is lots of wood if yo don't mind chopping it yourself or buying it.  to offset the costy you can always Gold Pan all summer late into the evening :)

Fireplaces are very cozy, but must be even more so in Alaska during the long winter.
