Thinking About Buying A Springfield VA Home? What Style Of Home Do You Like?

By
Real Estate Agent with Integrity Real Estate Group

Springfield VA Detached HomeYou are beginning to move closer and closer to that moment when you open the door of a home and you say "this is the one."  You've hired your experienced Springfield VA Realtor®, have your financing lined up and understand the different types of homeownership avaialble.

Now you start to think about the style of Springfield VA home you would like.  You have a number of options including one level condominiums, townhouses and detached homes.  Your lifestyle can play a big part in your decision making process.  If you work long hours or like to take extended vacations a condo or townhouse might be right for you.  Less maintenance to deal with while you are away or taking up your weekends.

Want to have a big yard for a garden or room for pets?  Then a detached home may be your choice.  Then you have to start thinking about style of Springfield Oaks Townhouses in Springfield VAhome.  Split level, split foyer, colonial, rambler, ranch the choices of Springfield VA homes goes on and on.  Often the best way to know what you like is to tour a few of each.  There are some who step in the front door of a home and know immediately they don't like the layout and it doesn't matter if they home has updated bathrooms or kitchen.

Once you decide on the type and style of home that best suits your needs it's easier to narrow your search to the Springfield neighborhood that has the home style you like.

That's right.  A homeowner will be happiest if the style of home matches their lifestyle.

Pat-there are a lot of choice in Springfield.  They may not be the newest homes in the area but many of the neighborhoods have been well cared for over the years.

Lloyd-when I meet with a prospect and they say I don't like xyz style house it makes it easy to take it off the list.

Cindy, I want a gigantic home with a massive yard. And a pool. Walk-out basement maybe? Built incredible, so I don't have anything to worry about for years. Oh, and extremely inexpensive. Just like everyone else :) Have a great day!

Cindy, when buyers answer this question and become decisive, it clearly narrows the field to specifically what they are looking for. However, my experience is that it takes quite a bit of time for buyers to actually settle the answers in their own minds.

Cindy,

It's amazing how house styles differ from region to region, even within the same state or province.

Cal-some are looking for a home like the one they grew up in.  Others want a "great room" feel.  The  nice thing is once they find the style the want in a Springfield VA home I can quickly help them narrow the neighborhood.

Hi Cindy -- an important and great start for buyers looking in the Springfield VA market -- I find most buyers want a specific style and then based on budget, the location will come into play.
