FAQWhether you are a first time home buyer

or seasoned real estate investor, live locally or will be new to our area, or getting ready to sell your homethere are always questions. Sometimes, you might not even be aware you have questions until the time or situation warrants it. Something I’ve learned over the years is that everything worth knowing, starts with a question.

Whenever I’ve gone online to get questions answered about different subjects, my goal is usually to get a phone number so I can ask my questions of a real live human being. The reason is that sometimes the answer to a question may only prompt another question. Have you noticed that it is getting more difficult all the time to find a phone number on so-called customer service websites? What they do have though, is a list of FAQs. It’s only been very recently that I knew FAQ stood for Frequently Asked Question. Up until the time that some so called customer service representatives started irritating me more than their website, I never looked at the FAQs, I will grudgingly admit that reading the FAQ section can be a time saver … sometimes. Still…it ticks me off when there is no phone number listed.

Ain’t gonna happen here! (Wonder if Mom will call about this grammar?). Anyway, if you have questions about buying or selling real estate and want to talk to a real live human being, our phone numbers are prominently mentioned in this blog or on our MoonDancer Realty website. If you should get voice mail when you call however, we are probably answering someone else’s questions so leave a message and we’ll get back to you just as soon as humanly possible. In the meantime, you might find some answers by following the links below on popular areas of conversation regarding real estate issues.

In our experience, questions beget answers which beget more questions…more answers…and before you know it, we’re having a real live conversation about real estate. Then, something awesome happens…you become comfortable with the process and find out that with a professional to guide you through the whole real estate thing…it’s not so scary, in fact…it’s exciting!

Hi Mona, I've noticed the FAQ trick as well! Sometimes they actually do answer one of my questions but more often than not, there's no FAQ in relation to what I'm trying to find out. I guess my questions are seldom the frequently asked kind. ;-) If you get lucky you might find a number right there but many times you are send on a treasure hunt:

Hi Mona, A wonderful post and it certaiinly does go to the heart of the issues most people feel about the online customer service of a site. I have taken this a step further. When I have an interest to sign up for a service, I look for the phone number and if there isn't one, I pretty much disqualify it. Your discussion about real estate is even more true and being able to be reached and available to answer peoples question is to me the way to thrive in our industry. My clients would testify to the ease of reaching me at any time. And I especially liked the way you drew in the experience of building the real estate relationshiip by answeriing questions and allowing the questions and answers to help build the confidence to be able to move forward.

My question is "did Mom call about your grammar?"  BTW, I hate searching for a phone number, it should be prominently displayed.

Mona, speaking with a service provider and getting an answer to your specific question is preferred. The phone number should be easily accessible. Enjoy your day1

Good morning Mona. This is a wonderful post and funny too. I agree that everything worth knowing starts with a question. I love talking to a person without the press one, now two now listen as our system has recently changed. Very well said.

Andrea, you and I probably need the option of LFAQ...less frequently asked questions, lol.

William, that's one way to solve it.  No phone number to me means the company has no interest in actually participating in a conversation with the consumer.

Roger, not yet!  She will though.

Wayne, I agree.

Sheila, love the style of your comment.

Allen, I like to have both options.

Sometimes you don't even know you have a question until you know enough about a subject to think of one. A foundation is important and real life conversations are great for setting one up.

Jill, real life conversations are irreplaceable.  Nothing like the give and take of dialogue.
