Photography in the immediate. Breaking down life into 1/125 second segments.

Photography in the immediate. Breaking down life into 1/125 second segments.I have been doing it for so long that it is second nature to me. My brain has been trained to see things in the immediate.

I started taking photographs in the ‘60’s. At the time, I was using inexpensive “drugstore” equipment that offered the budding film photographer artistic opportunity at a minimal cost. The tern “snapshot” was used to describe the less than professional results.

In the digital age of today, even entry level cameras can produce startling results. Photography has become the purview of the masses and the ability to capture an image and instantly disseminate it to the world has changed the way that we think about taking pictures.

I do “see” the world in the immediate. I don’t see people or objects.

Rather I perceive millions of 1/125 second segments of time that beg to be captured and preserved for posterity.

It’s a mindset that I will take with me as long as I am cognizant and coherent!

Those photos are very cool!  Photos do become second nature when you've been doing it as long as we have.

Richard - Very cool! I love photography too. Sometimes I miss the old darkroom days! I was shown drugstore photos yesterday and I was amzed that people even do that anymore!

Richard these photos are beautiful! You should put them together in a book! I know you have enough to bind up. Your family and family generations down the line would also enjoy them.
