Emily Medvec Santa Fe Real Estate FAQ

When people say “markets” in Santa Fe, they are not always talking about our real estate market. Often they are talking about the other markets that eventually bring people to Santa Fe for the first time as visitors. In fact, these markets are so unique to Santa Fe they are now traditions reflecting the rich diversity of our creative Santa Fe lifestyle and Hispanic and Native American roots.

If you are planning a visit to Santa Fe during any of these market events, make sure you have your hotel, B and B or short term rental accommodations booked as early as possible. Why? People come from all over the US and around the globe to experience these three unique markets. They are a favorite venue for local and serious collectors as well people who love art in any form. And if you are planning to see real estate during these market times, it is highly recommended you contact us weeks prior to your visit to make certain we can schedule appointments to see homes and take advantage of our other market - Santa Fe Real Esate.

The Santa Fe Indian Market is the oldest market event in Santa Fe. This year marks the markets 9lst event. Buyers, collectors and gallery owners from all around the globe visit this market event to buy directly from the Native American artists themselves given both the quality and authenticity of the art on the market at Indian Market. The Best of Show Awards held on the eve of Indian Market are better than the Academy Awards because you can meet the artist winners in their booth the next morning. The majority of the winners sell their work shortly after sunrise when the market opens.

Santa Fe Indian Market week precedes the market. It is a true celebration of Native American arts, film, music, fashion and extraordinary pieces of art, pottery, jewelry, carvings, fetishes and everything truly authentic Native American. Your purchase supports the Native American artist directly. The Santa Fe Indian Market is located downtown on our historic Plaza. In fact, it consumes 14 city blocks with 600 exhibition booths. Emily- I love the "other markets" of Santa Fe.  And, yes, plan ahead for accommodations because Santa Fe is  definitely a destination city.
