Berryville Graphics, a German-owned company, plans to add 86 new jobs to their Clarke County facility.  Governor McDonnell announced the new jobs after meeting with the CEO of Bertelsmann AG - a European media company.

Berryville Graphics will be the location of the consolidation of book Berryville Graphics Logoprinting operations for Bertelsmann.  The company will institute $10.6 million dollars in renovations to the Berryville, VA, property.  The Berryville Graphics facility was originally the Double Day Bookbinding operation.

Under the skillful leadership of Governor McDonnell, Virginia has started special programs to attract businesses to Virginia.  The county and state both offered matching grants to help fund the company's recruitment, training and retraining activities.

Berryville Graphics produces approximately 120 million books each year in the Clarke County plant.  The facility has been a great asset to the local economy for many years.  The new jobs will be welcomed in a recovering economy.  The mayor of Berryville also voiced his enthusiasm for the changes at Berryville Graphics.  The company has been a great community partner for more than 25 years.

Mike- that sounds like great news for Berryville VA.  It's important for our local and state governments to be proactive in attracting businesses to their area.

Kathy, our governor is a rocking governor.  He has a vision for business and growth, and our state that was slipping into the abyss just a few short years ago is carrying a surplus today.  Good governance.  Take a hint D.C.

Absolutely, Michael.  The county of Clarke the state government are making a welcoming environment for business.

120 million that sir is a lot of paper which keeps a lot of people working.  It all filters down from the buyer of the books to the lumberjacks who cut the trees to the environmentalist who replants the trees,  The cycle of life

This should be a pretty good thing,  Jon.  We're missing that beautiful ocean out the window.  Keep your eyes open.  I have a package heading out today.

Right, Conrad.  The local government and the governor have sweetened the business environment, and more companies are coming to the area.   Not only will they add 86 manufacturing jobs, but they will bring construction jobs too.

Absolutely, James.  It's like throwing a stone in a pond.  It ripples out into all directions.

That's great news!  Especially since all our jobs seem to be outsourced or relocated to countries with cheaper labor.

Kris, we're blessed with a great governor who has a vision for attracting businesses to the state, and it's working.  Good see more business coming to the valley.  Good to see you.

Absolutely, Jennifer.  There has been a printing company at this location since I was a little kid.  It's nice to see it still here and still growing.
