I have always had a belief in karma. If I do good, then good things will come to me. Having been a hippie in my pre-bald days this is not surprising. Its how most of us thought.
On Thursday of this week I attended a Realtor breakfast at the local I hop. We meet every Thursday, but normally in a more formal venue. This week our normal spot was being used for Vacation Bible School, so we gladly relinquished the room for a week.
Our breakfast was fun and it was a nice change from our normal Thursday meeting. I had to leave a bit early for an appointment and as I walked into the parking lot I noticed a device, which turned out to be an I pod Touch on the ground with headphones still attached. Nice unit, looked new and obviously fallen out of a pocket or a car. In fact it was near the front passenger door of a car in a Handicap spot. I took it inside and spoke with a girl at the the register. I showed her where I found it and watched as she began searching for the owner of the car and hopefully the I pod.
Didn't think any more about it and went on about my day. On Friday I had a meeting with a client at Starbucks. We sat and talked for almost an hour. I then went to my office for an hour and then home. When I got there I realized my blue-tooth was in my ear but my Android was not in my pocket. Panic. As Realtors our smart phone is a critical device even when attached to a non smart Realtor. I found a friend of mine and asked him to call me as I walked around my home listening for it. I was sure I had simply mislaid it. Suddenly he yells at me, Dale, your phone is at Starbucks! Some one there had answered the phone! A customer had found it and turned it in and an employee had answered it. Way cool. Turns out it had been answered several time by the employee. My son called, and explained who he was, but there was no way to contact me. He posted on FB to go back to Starbucks. The Starbucks employee and even called my office and left a message regarding its whereabouts.
Had my phone back shortly and and couldn't help but believe that its quick return had something to do with the I Pod from the day before. Had to be a direct solid line between the two events. Had to be.
