Murphy Police Department Effectives Improves with Community Cooperation

an eyeball with a hat and a magnifying glassIn a recent Murphy Police Department news release Police Lieutenant Adana Barber was quoted as saying “Police Departments around the nation all agree that they become better and more effective when the community participates by actively reporting crime, exposing suspicious behavior and eliminating the opportunities for crime to occur.”

One particular program that the police department would like to make Murphy residents aware of is called the House Watch program. The Murphy Police Department would like to encourage all residents to utilize it while away on vacation. To find out more about the house watch program log onto www.murphytx.org and go to the Community Relations tab on the Police Department page. Here you can sign up for the program and rest assured that Murphy PD is watching your home while you are away.

Murphy Police Department Effectives Improves with Community Cooperation

Good morning Teral -  In our area the Police offer and encourage home and neighborhood watches.  In fact we live in a neighborhood watch community and have very little crime in our little area.  Having your neighbors back and them having yours works!  Good information for your local people my friend.

Hi Joni, it is surprising how few people actually know about it much less use it; thank you for stopping by and sharing.

Neighborhood watch is a good one, John. Some of our neighborhoods have them and others don't. But I too am blessed to live in an area with little crime. My husband and I will take late night walks during the summer; so nice.

I have to strongly agree with that. If the community does not allow it and reports it, that would help out the Police Department and it would help to prevent future crimes because people know they will be reported if spotted. Too many people just look away and say nothing. Its ridiculous.

hi John, another tragedy - too many people don't know their neighbors. I agree though; we need to look out for one another. I encourage my buyers to go out and meet their new neighors.
