stranded

Being a single woman who does all her own driving and mostly by myself it is important to have AAA. I do and it has been a blessing and saved me from being stranded more than once so what I pay per year is DEFINITELY worth the money.  Whether it was a flat tire along the road or a battery that needed a jumpstart both of which I have had more than once. I even needed to have it towed once.  Today I was fortunate to be home when it wouldn't start.

I have the basic coverage but as anyone knows they also have AAA Plus. Fortunately I haven't needed the PLUS. Well today I needed a jumpstart because when I went to move the car so I could mow. NOTHING happened. I placed the call to AAA and within about 1 hr he was there. The diagnosis. I NEED a NEW BATTERY.  Since it was covered under my basic plan it was "NO CHARGE"

Now they offer to sell you one but I declined and went to a Advantage Auto here locally to get a new battery. The AAA fellow told me that is where it was purchased from. So off I went.  A new battery would have cost about $115 plus tx. Now they offer fast and free installation. I can handle fast and free. The fellow who waited on me was super polite and helpful. He wanted to put it on the tester to make sure I needed it. Now I hadn't purchased it at this branch and so naturally I didn't have the receipt and wouldn't have begun to know where it was if I by chance still had it.

Now the fellow that waited on me told me it should have been still good and it was unusual that they had one go bad early. It was STILL under warranty. Now he talked to a another fellow there and even though I didn't have the receipt they replaced the battery NO CHARGE & of course they had the free installation so this was my second NO CHARGE of the day. Gee maybe I should play the lottery since it was a LUCKY day for me. NAH!!!! I wouldn't get THAT lucky.

I am most happy with MY two NO CHARGES of the day.

Roy-I am indeed. Thank you for the beautiful flower. I will have to be in the pool or inside to keep cool for the next week with temps in the low 100's and high 90's.

Sharon, what a positive twist on what could have been a huge headache.  My Jeep's warranty is about to expire so it sounds like AAA might be a great plan to have.

Thank you for sharing Jon and Mary's posts earlier.

Sharon, having AAA is important being single, and if you have a little older vehicle!    Getting stranded somewhere late at night is NOT COOL!

Sondra-Definitely a positive twist and it most definitely is a good idea for a single lady to have AAA especially if you live in the country in CO.  Jon and Mary are great people so I glad I could point you in their direction. Anybody living there can understand how scary it is even better than anyone outside of the area that never has to deal with wildfires. Glad to know you are safe.

Tammy-Sounds like you definitely could. I have had those days and weeks. Hope things let up soon.

Joan-It truly is and my vehicle is 22 yrs old and I have been stranded late and night. Thankfully AAA got there fast and I had lock the doors and there was no problems.
