Raise your hand!

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt like you hit rock bottom. If I wasn’t typing, I’d have both hands raised really high right now. But isn't it amazing how struggle tends to bring out the best of who you are? It's the irony of life. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can rebuild yourself into someone even better and learn just how strong your spirit can be.

I had a good friend pass away from cancer last year. Prior to his diagnosis, he was in a bad car accident. And before that he was just kind of lost, making bad decisions in his life. But when he awoke in the hospital after the car accident, he told me he would spend the next year of his life getting physically, mentally and spiritually strong.

Although he didn’t conquer his battle with cancer, I have never seen someone rebound in life in so many other ways. He became a spiritual giant and an emotional rock. He mended relationships that needed mending for years. He became the best person he could be. And then he flew home to heaven.

It’s only too late to change your life after you’re gone. I hope you will adopt that kind of attitude and continue on this journey of living well, no matter where you’re at in life. Make changes in any aspect of your life that could use improvement. Learn from your mistakes; rebuild yourself.
