City Cabins at Indian WallSeattle’s award winning Green home builder Martha Rose has secured two more lots in Seattle’s Licton Spring Neighborhood just north of Green Lake. With the City of Seattle’s expedited green building permit process Rose should begin their latest project Indian Wall in early September 2012.

The high-performance homes will focus on two of the most precious resources energy and water. Part of the overall sustainability plan is two build a house that last a longtime with extremely durable building materials utilizing the latest technologies and building science techniques to minimize the energy and water that is needed in the house.

Rose’s rethinking about the longevity of the house relative to what oil prices and water availability will be 40-50 years from now knowing that the competition for these precious resources will be much greater than they are today is building and designing for the next-generations.

Rose is choosing to build to the standards of the Department of Energy’s Building America’s Builder’s Challenge program, Energy Star and local green home building program Built Green, which require that the homes be at least 30% more energy-efficiency than code built homes.

The City Cabins™ concept was first developed when Rose wanted to build high-performance homes that had some back to basics styling with an urban rustic feel.  In February of 2012 the first City Cabins in Seattle were completed and quickly sold out.

The new homes will be approximately 2000-2200 square feet, 3bedrooms/2.5 baths and pricing will be in the mid-$500s.

Hi Joan, Martha Rose Construction has built a pretty strong following for green homes in the Seattle area. They should go fast.
