Showing feedback - please!

This house needs feedback: 314 Country Wood, San Antonio, Texas 78216Dear Buyer's Agent:

I don't care how busy, or tired, or important you are, my sellers are anxiously awaiting feedback from your showing of their property. They want to know how it looked, what your buyers thought, and if there is anything else they can do to improve its appearance.

Nothing is more frustrating to a seller when they have gone to all the trouble of tidying up, putting away the pets, and rushing out of the house than not knowing how it went.

Even though feedback is not always useful, I think it's the mark of a professional to respond to the feedback requests from the showing service in a timely manner. I make a point of sending feedback on my showings within 24 hours. The showing service automatically emails a survey form that is quick and easy for an agent to fill out. Comments are encouraged, but I designed the survey with radio buttons to select to make it even simpler to fill out. The showing service sends out reminders, and the survey form has a photo of the house to jog your memory.

Please take a minute to answer my feedback requests(s) so that my sellers know that we are both doing our jobs.

You are absolutely correct.  It's amazing how they will not respond to your request but this same agent is nagging you before you have a chance to get back in the office door for feedbackon one of their listings.  Go figure! Gret post and POINT

Robin,  I couldn't agree more - that feedback is so important and shows the value to the seller of "both" agents that they are doing their job!  Also follow up shows you care!

I agree feedback is a professional courtesy that should be extended to one another. I also think the listing agent should customize a feedback request form to ask multiple choice questions to make it easier to give that feedback. It may be a little too much to ask an agent to fill out feedback forms for 6 - 8 homes shown in a day that requires a written summation.

Seems simple enough to fill out the form and provide some feedback. It helps the agent know how the price is and/or if it needs to be staged better. Also helps the seller make decisions on what to do next (with the help of the agent of course). Doesnt take very long to fill out the form.

Robin - I have the same issues with feedback here in my area. Agents are very anxious about getting into the homes and then "forget", or are "too busy" to give any feedback. The sellers have prepared their homes for showings and many times may need to take children and pets out, only to wonder what the buyers thought. Besides the fact that it helps with pricing and staging, lets let common courtesy prevail.

An offer is indeed the best kind of feedback to get. I do warn my sellers that not all agents will give feedback, but they still ask me about it. Since I'm their only source of information, I have to do my best to get it for them.

I think giving feedback is a common courtesy.  I would hope most agents make an attempt to be polite & complete the form.

It's not like you are asking them to write a short story :)
