You should include Active|Rain in your 2008 Business Plan

By
Real Estate Agent with Bradbury Team Prudential Patt, White Real Estate

Do you have a business Plan?  It is a must!  Have you ever heard that

"IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN, YOU PLAN TO FAIL"!  It is so true

A good business plan should include how you are going to earn your business this year.

How much do you want to earn for the year?  What is your plan to make it happen?  After all, we are all Rainmakers, and we make our business happen.  It will never fall in our lap by itself!

How many transactions and what income would be produced when you act as a Buyer's Agent?

The same on the other side - What will you earn when you are representing the Seller?

In each case, you need to decide the sources of this income.  Where will these clients come from?

Past Clients

Referrals from your Sphere of Influence

Floor Calls and walk ins

Prospecting and farming and handing out your business cards each day. I like to go to the 7-11 and the local WAWA and wear my name badge at the coffee bar.  I have gotten alot of people talking to me that way!

ACTIVE|RAIN and internet leads.  This is definate must!  If you blog consistantly, and comment, and make new friends on A|R, then it is a given.  By the end of the year, I am sure I will be moving this one up to the top of the list on how I will get new additional business.  A|R does indeed work.  It is prospecting!  I have already had 4 deals as a direct result of my time here in the Rain.  I expect many more.

Active|Rain is one wonderful place, and It is definately on my 2008 business plan, in securing new clients and turning them into past clients.

Have you included your prospecting time here on Active|Rain into your Business Plan?

That's an interesting idea. I don't think of Active Rain as something to include in my business plan, but maybe not a bad idea!

Absolutely. Without AR, my website would still not be listed highly on any of the search engines.

Hey Al.  If you plan to earn an income from your prospecting on A|R, it should be in your plan. Thanks for commenting

Hey Wendy.  I try to spend 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening on A|R.  LOL  it is way more than that actually, but the time pays off.  I have had four deals so far as a result of A|R

Put 40 years of experience to work for you

My business plan is to post at least one blog a day on AR, one blog a month on Corcoran's site, one blog twice a year for Tomato and three blogs a week for my own site on about.com. I've been doing this for a while now, and it's not so difficult once it becomes a habit. I know some people who can't blog even once a week because they think they have nothing to say. But they go home at the end of the day and yak non-stop to friends and family about their day. Go figure.
