Technology. When “good enough” is good enough!

Technology. When “good enough” is good enough! When I was a much younger man, I lived on the leading edge of technology. I had to possess the latest and greatest of everything.

In those days, technology was extremely expensive. And in many cases, the benefits of the primitive usability did not justify the high initial investment.

If nothing else, I got a good education for my money. I leaned a basic tenet of technology that has remained with me to this day:

The best technology to purchase is the one that you will actually use!

And once I have something that works “good enough,” I am no longer driven towards “better.”

In many cases “new and improved” only translates to “more expensive.” I have no desire to part with my money without a reasonable expectation of benefit.

Somehow we survived through the 50’s and 60’s without any of this stuff.

Because what we had was good enough!

The camera concept of the best one is the one with you works for all the tech toys ....good point. I have had no regrets about each iPad step up, though.

I enjoy the advantages of technology, but only when it works.  Today, technology won! :(

I remember the good ole days... and sometimes I miss them.  But at work I need and want all the fastest technology I can get my hands on.

Richard - Though I like my technology tools, I tend to agree with you for the most part.

So true. It's nice to sit back and think on what we do have today, instead of simply striving to have more. Great post.
