Pushing past that invisible wall!

You can't see it, you can't smell it, you can't really even touch it, and yet it can smack you hard in the face.

That invisible barrier, that solid brick wall that keeps you from accomplishing... well... almost anything.

I had a busy, busy, busy, week last week.  Contracts, Inspections, Closings... it was a whirlwind of busy.  (I know, I know... I ain't complaining... it's wonderful, especially after the horse latitudes of the last few years).

And, as some of you have noticed, I haven't been writing as many posts as usual.  (Thanks to those of you who've reached out wondering if everything was okay... and asking "when can we anticipate some new Alan May posts?")...

During the "busy, busy, busy".. it was hard to find the time to sit down and write... and it didn't help that it was 214° in the shade around here for a while.  I think I may actually have burned my hand on my steering wheel this week... (serves me right for having a black car with a black leather interior... doesn't it?).

I've had trouble getting motivated to write.  My attention has been dramatically diverted by business... the property my buyers have an accepted offer on, didn't appraise.  We were afraid we wouldn't get the property, and would have to start looking again... when lo and behold (that's right... I said "Lo and Behold")... the sellers were reasonable... realized that they'd have the same appraisal issue with any buyer, and decided to accept the reduction to the appraisal price... woo hoo!

My attention has been diverted by my new grandson... (just turned 5 months old... ain't he cute?)... he's growing up quickly... changing daily (maybe hourly)... and I'm enjoying the ride.

But I'm going to make a concerted effort to get back on track.  As my buddy Larry Bettag frequently points out, it only takes a short while to form a habit, and it only takes a short while to lose that habit.

So, I'm going to push past that wall, and get back into the habit.  See you in the rain!

Had the same problem.  It does tend to "get your attention" and take some time to get through.

Contract price - $587,500
Apprsisal - $535,000

THAT was a shocker.

Alan I have found my best blogs are often sharing  the experiences from a hard day at work. As you noted my last blog sure grabbed some attention..... I was thankful you emailed direct, I do wish I would have had access to email you back sooner.
