The Best Compliment is When a Client Calls Me

The Best Compliment is When a Client Calls Me

I’m thrilled that I was able to answer my phone when the call came in: these are the calls an agent doesn’t want to miss. A buyer client I sold a home four years ago asked me if I could manage his property because he received a job opportunity in another state.

He doesn’t want to sell because he’s underwater in his mortgage. After analyzing market rents, his current monthly mortgage payment and cost for our office to manage his property, it should be a win-win for him.

I’m excited because this will be my first property management transaction. I had been contemplating over the last year to learn property management, as market trends and statistics show there is a need for property management services in Southwest Riverside County California. I plan to pursue a property management certification that is offered by California Association of Realtors® education.

My office, Bassett & Associates REALTORS®, serving the Valley for over 25 years, is a full-service real estate brokerage and has the ability to manage property, not just lease it. If you need to rent your home in Southwest Riverside County California, or South San Bernardino County California, please contact Pamela Seley, REALTOR® direct at 951.491.4063 for assistance.

Hi Pamela - Good luck with your new venture. Our daughter has her own property management company and it has been interesting watching her - it's a business that requires some completely different skills and knowledge. You'll be needing to mentally change hats as you move back and forth between the two.

Dick, I've been told I'm not mean enough to be a property manager. LOL! It is a different world. One property to manage does not make a living, but it will be fun and interesting learning. I want to help my client anyway, so I'm up for it. I need a change of pace and have been wanting to get out of the short sale business. They're not any easier now than when I started them four years ago. Short sales are the scraps at the bottom of the barrel.

Pamela - Brave souls are becoming accidental landlords these day ... as with your client.  The jury is still out for the recovery time, but I'm glad you are making the service available to your clients!

Jack, never want to turn away a client. I agree, jury is still out. Who knows when we'll recover? Some home owners are in better positions than others. Thanks for your comment today,

Mike, thank you. I'd like all my client to call me when they need a real estate agent. Thanks for your comment today,
