Going for the Gold....or Silver...or maybe the Bronze... I don't know!

Going for the Gold....or Silver...or maybe the Bronze... I don't know!

But I'm going to get a medal because I love playing games.

Like most things, you know if I go for the Gold Medal, that's too much pressure for me.

So I'm going to concentrate on going for the Silver or Bronze Medal.  Any way going, I consider myself a winner, or at least a contender.  I'm in the game, race, or whatever it is..............but I'm IN!

Here's my goal, simple and to the point.  I will do my best and work my hardest to help all of my ActiveRain friends achieve their Gold Medal.  Whatever it is you need from me, give me a call and I'll do my best to help you out.

I'm a good listener and love telling other people what to do, it's so much easier than listening to myself and taking my own advice.

My plan for taking home a medal (not particular which color):

  • I will actually answer my phone from time to time just in case it is one of you and you are in need of my help.
  • I will also check my e-mail daily and not only look for notifications of comments on my post, I will also look for a message from anyone who is reaching out to me for my advice.  (Man, do I feel bad for you).
  • I will start having my first "adult beverage" a little later in the day so I am available and lucid for your calls or e-mails.  (Don't count on this one...............it's just a rough draft of a plan, I'm still working on it).
  • I will consult my "esteemed panel of judges" if there is a topic that I don't feel I am best qualified to help you with and if it falls into their area of "expertise" and not mine.   (Keep in mind my areas of expertise are adult beverages, over eating, smoking (or trying to not smoke today), questionable language and what's fun and what's not.
Gosh, I hope I get it............the Gold Medal that is..............the more I think about it, the Silver or the Bronze just won't cut it, I've got too much going for me to settle for anything less than the Gold!

This post is written for submission to Go For the Gold - Active Rain Olympic Contest

Since Kevin Tolbert reminded me, my esteemed panel of judges and people who will mentor me, coach me and offer their help in their areas of expertise are:
Kathy Streib
Sharon Tara
Craig Rutman

They just don't know it yet.
Hope they read this post!
Oops, Sharon already did, I hope she comes back!

Hi Rogers,

All the best with the contest.

Seems like your phone may ring off the hook with Activerain members calling up for your help and expertise. Good luck with your new adult beverage schedule :)

Yeah, but most of them are categories that most people wouldn't want any part of Sheila................LOL.  Thanks though, glad you found this funny.

I have a feeling it's going to be the Aluminum Medal that Erv mentioned Larry and Sheila

That new schedule is going to be the toughest part of this Wandanna.............thanks for the good wishes.

Smart man Pete, but in some circles, that's the toughest to get, so much competition.

Roger~you are GOLDEN in my book!!  Loved these goals, loved the way you're reaching out, and loved the reality of how hard some of them can be!  Plus, as always, your sense-of-humor and self-deprecation make you that much more "valuable" a person!!!

You are the only one who "Got It" Debbie................that's exactly what was going through my mind when I wrote that line................what I didn't know was that Marvin Hamlisch died this week.  OY!  He was great, I love most of his stuff too.

God, I hope I get it.
I hope I get it.
How many people does Miss Banana need?

How many people does she need?

God, I hope I get it.

I hope I get it.
How many boys, how many girls?

How many boys, how many...?

Look at all the entries!

Oh, I guess only three.  Gold, Silver and Bronze, unless Miss Banana decided to go with the Aluminum Medal.

In that case, it's MINE!

Ask Erv, he'll tell you!

Roger -- glad you enjoyed it -- I thought it was appropriate to keep the theme of A Chorus Line going along.

Nothing was always my favorite, too.  Great video, but I have to say I'm partial to the original cast since I saw it on broadway (gosh such a long time ago) and had that album.  Oh, and I remember learning the dance moves at camp.  Gosh I was prob. still in elementary school then.
