Ethics, The Value of A Realtor what about our numbers

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 Olde Tyme

Hello All I am seeing a lot of discussions on Ethics and my favorite is Realtors are they valued etc. Well here is a question or probably just me pondering. I see this discussion coming up and in a lot of posts it is slipped in that the person poisting had just paid there board dues. Are these posts coming up because it is a little harder to pay these dues now that the market is down ?

How about everyone post what is happening in your neck of the woods as to Realtor's paying there dues. You know are our numbers slipping ? I heard from a title rep in December tht over 500 Realtors dropped out of our local board due to the market. So what is happening in your neck of the country. Are our numbers down ? Is this a good thing for the rest of us ? Will this just leave the agents that are commited to the industry or vice versa ?

Doug membership is down here in NH and it is a good thing. A lot of people came into the market to make a quick buck. I have been around for 22 yrs. and have been thru a downturn once before. This will weed out the people that don't know how to make it and the strong will survive.

Jay, This is my fourth year and I did not get into Real Estate for the fast Buck. So this is my hope as well. Thanks for the reply.

I think it's a good thing. If you got into Real Estate and thought it was going to be easy...your order taking ways are over. The good agents and lenders will stick around and get through it. Proportionally, it may mean more business for all of us...less competition...Yes, slightly heartless...I will miss some of my friends too! But, in this industry, it's survival of the fittest and that is good for our clients!
