Oh no, Moving Day!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Partners 303302

Ack! It’s moving day, did I remember to do everything? What do you need to be thinking about in the moments before you leave your old home and move somewhere new? The list below could be helpful.

ð       Unplug all appliances that you are leaving behind.

ð       Pack all last minute items.

ð       Lock all windows and doors.

ð       Set thermostat properly.

ð       Perform a final inspection on your old home to make sure that you didn't forget to pack any items or to   disconnect any appliances.

ð       Review the bill of lading very carefully before the truck driver leaves.

ð       Leave keys, garage door openers, appliance manuals etc for new owner.

Now, take a deep breath, close the door behind you, and remember to thank the professional real estate agents you worked with for all their hard work!

No matter how much you plan a move it seems that you always forget something.

I had left town moving away 700 miles and after two months I remembered about my deposit box in the local bank..

Oh my,  a trip back to get the forgotten papers....

Good list Peter, but I'd add running a final broom or vacuum around so that good vibes are ready for the new inhabitants and checking outside to make sure no stray packing or toys are left behind.  There's always stress involved in the final check!
