I found Ted Bell's books several years ago and have faithfully read them to learn the history of his HERO, Lord Alex Hawke.
I've learned the tragedy of his wealthy parents being killed when he was a child by pirates while they were sailing; his being raised by members of his family; his being enticed to MI6 and his adventures with his "toys" * boats, ships and planes.
Bell's latest has Alex looking for his "last" lost love and the whisper that he has a son who are in a Russian prison. He affectionately mentions fellow writer, Nelson DeMille's book * The Charm School * when discussing the reason for the prison and the disinformation practiced by the Russian KGB.
...then ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE! and Hawke has to call Putin on his private phone and ask for his help because PHANTOM is not a who, it's a WHAT.
