Home Beautification Projects: Patio Furniture

Many Professional Home Stagers
share Before and After Photos which highlight significant improvements made by simply removing clutter, adding accents, rearranging or removing furniture and changing colors.

Patio Chair and Table

When it comes to the great outdoors of every house,
there are also many things that we can do to embellish, freshen and add appeal to an otherwise drab space.

No matter how good NEW patio furniture looks, after a
few years of exposure to the sun, extreme temperatures
and weather conditions, NEW patio furniture will start
looking old and worn out, but it doesn't have to.

Applying a fresh coat of paint will make
your patio furniture Pop instead of Flop.

My Recommendation for Paint Brand and Color

Spray Paint Can

Depending upon how much furniture you have, this Outdoor Home Beautification Project may only cost $25.00 - $100.00, which is a lot less than NEW furniture.

The paint shown above was purchased at Lowe's for approximately $6.00 per can.  This Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze Rust-Oleum Product will produce a deep rich appearance with a bit of sparkle.  For better longer lasting results a clear coat may be applied, after the color coat has sufficiently dried.

Home Beautification doesn't need to be expensive to look expensive.

Great advice, Richard!  Look at you getting all "stager" on your bad self!  LOL!  I've painted my outside furniture with Rustoleum and had fabulous results.

Good morning Richard,

Look at the results you get with a little hard work and time. Looks like everything turned out very well.

Have a great day in Mission Viejo.

Awesome post!  I love the "pop" instead of "flop line. I'm also cracking up at Sharon's comment. Too funny.

Rust-Oleum is a great product to save us a lot of money and to keep those favorite pieces looking fresh!

Have a great day!

I'm sure there are many things that could benefit from a little Rust-oleum.

I need to spray paint myself with this stuff. Love your header photo Richard.

ALSO...I was on Google+ and this came right to me. I am just getting cranking on G+ but have been very happy with the SEO bump.

Google search likes Google products :-)

Good job Richard.  We utilize our outdoor living area almost year around.  It's our favorite living area :)  My bride has even been known to vacuum the brick flooring with her mighty Dyson.... imagine that.

It's amazing what a little paint can do. I think flowers on the deck make a statement too.

Richard, I probably have as many SKUs in Rustoleum as Lowes! (Stock Keeping Units for the non-retailers).  I guess they'd work better if I take them out of storage and actually apply them to something.  Thanks for the inspiration.  Now, where's that face mask?

Hi everyone, I've been working on the rest of my patio furniture and so far have used 5 cans of the recommended paint.  Each piece looks great and completely upgrades the look of the same furniture with a new shiny finish.  For an investment of less than $50.00 the finished look delivers a big impression.

Don't spray paint on windy days, don't hold the can too close to what you are painting and wear a mask and eye protection.  Have fun, enjoy the outcome and best wishes always.

Hi Richard,

I can't tell you how long I have looked for paint with this oil rubbed bronze color.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.   I think outdoor lighting needs refreshing from time to time too and my bronze fixures are starting to look light rust!

Heading to Lowes first chance I have!!!

DeeDee, I only have one chaise lounge left to do;, we are also replacing the faded fabric in the loungers which makes a huge difference.  You're so right about the out door lighting, many of mine need replacing too.

Do one project and it points toward two more projects.  ;-)  Thank you for sharing and best wishes always.

Hi Rachell, You're absolutely right!  A fresh coat of paint or a new color can turn an item from old and dull to bright and appealing.  Thank you for commenting and best wishes always.
