September is a lovely month in the great Pacific Northwest Coast area...still sunny & warm days, cooler evenings, a harvest time...fruition of that Spring time.

Property Photo

A lovely time to visit the area, with lots happening!

Labour Day Weekend holiday is underway...the farmers markets continue, the Saturday Market in the Park, the Tuesday afternoon foodie market, the Wednesday morning market...enjoy the produce, fruit, berries grown locally. Check out the vineyard tastings....

ArtCraft continues at Mahon Hall (96 artists are represented, here), & ArtSpring showcases musical events, forums, theatre options, & gallery presentations.

The art galleries continue to create special presentations to engage & inspire: Steffich Fine Art Gallery and Gallery 8 in Grace Point Square, Pegasus Gallery of Canadian Art in "Old Mouat's" on the Boardwalk, and Salt Spring Gallery of Fine Art on McPhillips Avenue.

Check out the al fresco deck/patio spaces around town for lunch & coffee times (& check out their walls...more great impromptu art shows: Harbour House Hotel, Barb's Bakery, Cafe Talia, TJ Beans, Fernwood Cafe, Salt Spring Roasting Co.). Patio/deck dining also at Auntie Pesto's, at Seaside Kitchen, at Rock Salt Cafe, at Salt Spring Inn.

Live music continues nightly at Treehouse Cafe! Saturdays, catch Barley Brothers at Salt Spring Inn. Live music at Harbour House Hotel and at Moby's, on weekends.

The kids are back at school, the activities available to islanders begin again for the Fall/Winter season, cultural opportunities & outdoor actions...a time to update our hiking/walking options, our swimming & gym time...feeding our minds and keeping our physical expression as flexible as possible...I wonder how many of us see September as the authentic "new year"?...a time of new opportunities. Let's catch at them!

Property Photo

So...Labour Day Holiday Weekend, Pride Weekend Festival, Fall Fair Weekend, Sip & Savour Weekend, Farm Tours Weekend...all enjoying the Harvest moments. And then we ease out of September's "softer summer" & into October...be inspired by this exquisite season!

Good morning, Li -- beautiful photos of Salt Spring Island.  They provide, along with your description of activities taking place, plenty of incentive for residents to enjoy the area and for resident wannabees to consider moving there.

Li,

Your story about Harvest Time on Salt Spring Island and your photographs are simply beautiful! You make me want to explore more the opportunities in your immediate and surrounding areas. If there's one phrase that resonated strongly with me is "feeding our minds and keeping on physical expression as flexible as possible."

WOW! That's powerful! You really know your area well and you showcase it in the best light that has meaning to prospective buyers. While stats are great, you get to the heart of what draws the people. Well done and suggested!
