Our reputation is on the line at all times in the real estate world. That’s even truer today with it being online in multiple platforms and being dissected in many formats. How we handle our business and conduct ourselves has always been scrutinized, but now it’s available to a wider audience with a simple click of a mouse. So it’s important to monitor our reputation and business and make sure both are displayed in the best light. Internet and blogging tools have made it easy for prospects and clients to voice their opinions, which could be aimed at us. Thanks for the great advice, Jaime! I use Yelp reviews for everything and anything, ranging from auto repair shops to dry cleaners to restaurants. It's a great example of mutually advantageous social cooperation, or social capital.


The same applies to social media, which has seen a huge increase in popularity in the real estate realm. All of the Realtors® that I know actively use sites like Facebook to maintain relationships in order to earn more referrals. I've also seen an increase in property listings as well, and know that this is a great way to spread the word about new homes on the market.

Excellent tips, especially the first one.  Not only do you find where you are, but you also find out where you aren't.  One thing I did was build a list of sites I was on that needed updating as well as a list of sites I should be on but wasn't.  Then I started updating them all.
