It’s Flu Season...Go get that shot!

As fall approaches so does Flu Season.  The Flu or “Influenza” can be detrimental to anyone It's Flu Season..go get that shotbut especially the young, old or those with a weak immune system.  The benefits of getting an annual flu shot easily outweigh any possible negative side effects or inconvenience.  It really makes no sense not to be immunized (unless of course you have allergies preventing such) always ask your physician and pay close attention to the questions asked on the forms you are required to fill out prior to immunization.

Today while at an unrelated doctors appointment they were advertising flu shots so we signed up immediately and within just a few minutes we were on our way.  Most insurance carriers will cover the cost of a flu shot.  So watch your local news to learn of many free clinics.  We have on a fewDrive Through Flu Shot occasions joined in a drive by flu clinic at the University of New Mexico UNM. Yep, just drive up, roll down your window and roll up your sleeve and you’re quickly on your way..FREE!

More and more retailers and service providers are making flu immunization as convenient for you as humanly possible.  I saw today where Target offers an On The Spot Flu Shot. Walgreens and even the local Smiths Food and Drug Stores are offering Flu Shots in the Albuquerque area as well.

Don’t make any more excuses..It’s Flu Season...Go get that shot!

Thanks for the reminder! Ever since I came down with influenza in the early 90s I always get my flu shot. I never want to be that sick again.

I can't believe it's flu shot time again, John. But it is a good thing to do especially since we meet and shake hands with so many people.

John- Drive thru flu shots? I didn't know that even existed! I've never had a flu shot and will probably stick to that. When I used to work in corporate America I would watch co-workers get them and then get the flu the next day. Thankful for my strong immune system!

I'm lucky. I never needed it nor catch the flu.  Know plenty others that do though, so go get some!

John,

Yes a big thanks for the reminder as I need to get that darn shot. I hate needles due to trauma caused by a Dr. when I was a child. I can not look at that darn needle. Flu shot is a must these days and especially when you are a Realtor like the vast majority of the AR members.

Good Evening John...

Excellent Post.  As a military retiree, I have always had flu shot on base, since the price is right for me...FREE.  It is a great reminder though.  Thanks

John: This year I am not. Had the most awful flu in August and I figure that will do me for the year. If there is another strain out there, I'll take my chances.

John, I find that particularly in our business where we're shaking hands with so many people and touching door knobs and lock boxes and keys and such - it's so important.  Personally, I've still gotten the flu every single year for the last 5 years since I started getting the flu shots, but I'm usually up and about in 3 days - so much less down time than without a shot.

I see this as one of the great strengths of our country. Almost everyone has an opinion on flu shots and whether they should be taken or not. There are a variety of places from which they are dispensed, the cost is reasonable, and if one cannot pay, they are subsidized in some locations.

And no one makes one take the shot, and no one is restricted from taking the shot. Great situation.
