Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to publish this in enough time to give you all the details of the fair which was held September 5th in Sacramento, California.

Organizations around the world lose an estimated 5 percent of their annual revenues to fraud, according to a survey of fraud experts conducted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). It is against this backdrop that the ACFE urges organizations worldwide to participate in International Fraud Awareness Week, Nov. 11-17, 2012 to help cast a spotlight on this urgent problem.

It’s sad when we need to attend Fraud Awareness Fairs in order to become more aware of all the cons and scams increasing each year in our neighborhoods, businesses and in our homes. The Internet has become a great tool for obtaining information that will try to steal every dollar you have. The only way to combat this crime and not become a victim of fraud is by becoming AWARE of HOW it happens BEFORE it happens to you.

Common types of scams involving fraudulent deeds.

Learn how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud. To learn more about fraud, please select a page from the listing below:

The LIST of various Frauds goes on and on. A day doesn’t go by when I don’t hear about another fraud. The next time you get a phone call saying your mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, loved one or friend is out of the country and sick, in jail, or just had their belongings stolen and they need you to SEND MONEY QUICKLY…….run, don’t walk. It’s most likely just another scam. And guess where they are getting most of this information? They are obtaining a lot of it on FACEBOOK.

So be careful about the information you put on Facebook, and ONLY ALLOW ACCESS TO YOUR FACEBOOK by people you know and trust. NEVER put it on a Public page where anyone can obtain your personal information.

It’s far better to be overly-cautious, than not cautious enough.

IMPORTANT: If you or someone you know is interested in buying or selling a home in the Palm Desert Area, try searching properties on the same Desert Area MLS Realtor’s use, or give me a call….or visit my website at Palm Springs Homes and Estates. I will be happy to give you or your referral my “red carpet service.” After the sale, I will send you a $50 Gift Certificate towards dinner in a fabulous Palm Springs Area Restaurant so you can celebrate!
