Keep it local this holiday season at the Buy Local Marketplace in Reno. The City of Reno has partnered with the National Automobile Museum (10 Lake St.) to bring dozens of local businesses together under one roof for a special holiday shopping experience for all Reno area residents and visitors. On Saturday, November 3, 2012, the National Automobile Museum will play host for the first ever Buy Local Marketplace.
From 10am to 5:30pm, dozens of local Reno vendors and businesses will be displaying their wares for purchase. This is a great opportunity to find unique gifts for your friends and family while beating the holiday hustle and bustle. Get all your holiday shopping done ahead of time and in one place. Also, when you buy locally, you are helping our local Reno economy to flourish. The City of Reno reports that, if all of its citizens spent just 10% of their shopping budget locally, it would bring as much as $350 million dollars annually into the community. Spending locally helps keep jobs in Reno as well.
Admission to the Buy Local Marketplace in Reno is just $2 per person over the age of 16 or two cans of non-perishable food. All proceeds benefit the museum as well as the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
