Is this a perfect day for golf or what? No; then how about this weekend? Let’s get out there and hit the greens. Simi Valley Golf Coursesare amongst the most beautiful and top rated golf courses around.
Simi Hills Golf Course, a par 71 championship golf course designed by Ted Robinson, has been voted Reader’s Choice Winner by the ‘Ventura County Star’ in both 2011 and 2012; in addition, it has received a 3½ stars out of 5 from ‘Golf Digest’ as one of the top places to play golf in the United States. With its tree-line, plush green rolling fairways and challenging features on several holes, it makes this a golfer’s dare and delight.
Another fine golf course to consider is the Lost Canyon Golf Club. This is a magnificent 36-hole facility designed by Pete Dye and Fred Couples featuring two separate courses; Sky Course and Shadow Course. The Sky course follows along the canyon ridge giving an impressive view of the skyline. Shadow Course keeps to canyon floor from which you get a great vista of the surrounding mountains. Both courses are a masterpiece in design. Lost Canyon Golf Club offers tournaments as well as private events.
Sinaloa Golf Courseis a popular golf course with the Simi Valley residents. It is a smaller par 3, 9-hole golf course. The course has a driving range, a practice green and offers individual lessons. This is a perfect spot for someone short on time, but wants to play a round. There are great plans for the future of this golf course. It will be expanded to include a new golf practice area including a putting green, pitching area and a sand bunker. The expansion is being done to make this a more family-oriented recreational spot. There will be three 18-hole miniature golf courses, a new clubhouse, a new indoor Community Room and an outdoor Plaza Square. In addition, picnic pavilions, children’s playground, sand volleyball court and a shallow interactive stream will be included in the upgrade. This will become ‘the spot’ for family fun!
The last of the golf courses in Simi Valley is the Wood Ranch Golf Club, the only private golf course in Simi Valley.
However, of the other three, they have a lot to offer to golfers. So, get out those clubs … polish them off … practice that stance … and get into the ‘swing.’ Grab your spouse … call some friends … and head out to ‘tee off.’ Just remember, no fair fudging on the score card!
